59 - Family Fun

Just another typical Sunday afternoon in which I somehow get caught in the cross-fire of wrestle-mania!

58 - Trivia

Tonight was our second annual trivia night at church. Brian does a great job - he does a totally unique and fun trivia night that most people can enjoy and not feel like a complete dummy.

57 - Neighbors

These are my 4th and 5th boys. They live next door, but are welcome at my house and dinner table anytime they want. I love them, they make me smile, they play/fight/hang with my three. Their parents are awesome. We are blessed.

BTW - This is NOT one of my boys, but a teammate of #1

55 - SBG

Sweet Baby Girl - that is what we have always called her. It is hard to remember the tiny chew machine we brought home 7 years ago, way back when she was cute for a reason. (I contend that God makes some things cute so we don't kill 'em) I am not sure when it happened, but somewhere along the line, she turned into a wonderful dog. She has always had the sweetest temperment, but she has also grown loyal, patient, and loving. She is the BEST running partner, never complaining about the weather, the pace or the distance. She does complain, however, if I try to skip a run! I love her, plain and simple, and my life is enriched because she is a part of it.

54 - Walk in the Woods

It was nice enough today for me to get back in the woods we have behind the house. A bit muddy, but fresh air none-the-less. As much as I don't like cold and winter, I have to admit that ice (in the right places, like anywhere NOT on the road!) can be quite beautiful.

53 - There is Hope

Take a look at what I found today...

Yes, there is hope after all.

52 - Sweet Sunday

No pics today, Mr. Incredible and I spent the entire afternoon hanging in bed watching movies...it was bliss. So today I bring you Ms. Lucy-Fur.....yes, she is cute, but don't be deceived!

51 - Mancakes

#3 had a pancake breakfast this morning at school which I volunteered to help with. This is our first year in the public school system, so I was actually very excited to meet some new moms and get to know the school better. It was a good time thanks to these guys.
Mr. Incredible brought the boys to eat and decided that THIS was a much better way to make pancakes.
Anytime you can use a power drill and drywall mud spatula he is going to like it! He also liked the clean-up aspect of it…orange paint bucket and hose…much better than the ordeal the other weekend :0)
and let’s face it, anytime you have a meal that requires THIS much syrup, is it possible for it to be bad?

49 - Marriage?

I just finished the logo for our new sermon series at church, “Everybody Loves Marriage?” I love the question mark at the end, because at some point in every marriage you ask yourself, “really, THIS is what I signed up for?” Now I would love to say that Mr. Incredible and I have had a marriage filled with peaches and roses and everything is just soooo wonderful all the time, but I would totally be lying to you. We have overcome many obstacles, hard-times, and down-right ugliness to get to where we are now. So, do I think that all the difficulties are over and NOW we get to live the fairy-tale life? HA! I know better than that. BUT I do know that we are committed to learning the tools we need to get over each new challenge and hurdle. I do know that even when we are in a “?” time, we will buckle down and recognize that “LOVE” is a verb, and sometimes it is what you DO not what you FEEL that will get you over the hump. AND I do respect him and trust him to take care of our family in a way that will honor our integrity. Nope, I don’t think it is all down-hill from here. I know that this whole marriage thing is a roller-coaster and is one crazy ride. So I am ever so thankful that I married someone willing to throw their hands in the air with me and face it head on, laughing, crying and sometimes screaming the whole way.

Besides all that…..He’s a HOTTIE!

47 - Operation Beautiful

Today I ran across a blog that I have to share. Most blogs I read for fun or information. I like, make that LIKE reading blogs. It works for my reading addiction. Every once in a while, however, I come across a blog that is so much more than that. This is one of them. Operation Beautiful was started to make a difference in a very simple, but powerful way. Will you please take a moment to go there, read a little maybe watch a video, and then join me in writing a note or two (or hundred!)

Because I am just weird this way, the first notes I made are these stamped ones, and placed my first note on my own mirror, because if I am being honest with you, I need to see this more than I care to admit.

46 - Rare Sighting

Tonight Mr. Incredible and I went to the movie store to return/pick up new movies. He stole took my camera while I was inside and got the rare pic of me as I was coming out. Fair is fair, I have posted lots of pics of the fam, and many more to come I am sure, so I am going ahead and posting this rare sighting of me. BLEH!

45 - Valentine Red

Happy Valentine's Day. Not a day I really celebrate, but thought I would give you some red anyway.

44 - Shopping

Today was shopping day. Just a brief look into what my family eats in a two week period. Took this shot after we got back from Costco. Keep in mind I still had to go to Aldi and Walmart.

43 - Special Breakfast

Mr. Incredible made breakfast for the family last Saturday. He is wonderful! He went all out and made bacon, eggs, and waffles. I love him so. I didn't help in anyway shape or form. The meal was superb.

THEN...

He looked at the mess he had made making this wonderful creation, looked at me with alarm in his face, and said, "I don't even know where to start!"

Yes, he IS Mr. Incredible, NOT Mr. Perfect.

I then proceeded to give him a big hug and shooed him out of the kitchen and cleaned up. I forgot to get a pic of the stove, sink and dishes, but I did come to my senses and grab a shot of the poor waffle iron.

42 - Sad Day

I tend to grow attached to THINGS...yes, I know you can't take it with you, but I can't help it, somethings I just end up loving. What kind of things? Unlike many women I know, the things I love aren't fancy, big or shiny. My beloveds are things I have had many years and are like a part of my family. Case in point, I think I actually shed a tear when we got rid of my first mini van. It was worn, used and had a certain funky smell, but I loved it none-the-less. I didn't have to worry about taking it to baseball tournaments. I didn't have to worry about the doors getting dinged in the driveway. It was comfortable, I knew her well, we were like best friends. I took care of her, and she took care of me. Getting rid of her was like selling off a piece of me. I LIKE comfortable, I LIKE cozy, I LIKE that easy feeling of knowing what to expect. I had a friend of mine tell me how mad she was at her hubby because he compared her to his slippers. She was FURIOUS! She felt he was saying she was worn down, old and grungy. I told her he was actually giving her a HUGE compliment, He found her comfortable, dependable and was a perfect fit. But then again I am a woman who would be PERFECTLY happy if I was allowed to were jeans and a hoodie every day for the rest of my life!

So what does this have to do with today's pic? I am going to have to say goodbye to a beloved pan. It is the first stone I ever bought. It was a true splurge at the time. I have used it several times a week since I got it in 1998. Sadly, when I made my chocolate sheet cake this week, I noticed it was sticky on the bottom. Yes, it has finally decided to give into the thousands of uses, hundreds of recipes, and many, many degrees of heat and cracked on me. It is a sad day. Mr Incredible told me to "just go buy a new one" but he obviously does not understand the perfect state of "seasoning" it was in.

Good-bye dear friend, my kitchen will not be the same without you :-(

41 - Like the Sparrow

I didn’t have time to download pics from the camera today, so you are stuck with bird photos again. I did think this was kind of cool….I got this little sparrow as it was gobbling up seed on my deck.

40 - 932nd Snow Day

So much I could say about today, but don't want to bore you with another long post, sooooo I will just say that I was very unmotivated this snow day. Can I also say how COMPLETELY sick of snow days I am? Again, to save you the boredom insert a long irritated rant here about how they NEVER canceled school when I was there. and YES, I DID walk uphill both ways! ANYWAY... the bottom line is we did have a snow day because I am sure someone would have hydroplaned on the wet, slightly slick streets and sued every school in the area.

GOSH - I don't know why I didn't feel like doing anything today, these high-maintenance girls NEEDED me to cuddle with them!

39 - Everything and the Kitchen Sink

Tonight I stole my dear friend Laura’s idea and took a picture from a part of my house that would tell you something about me. Laura featured her couch here. I am showing the place I probably spend more time at than anywhere else…my kitchen sink. What can you tell about me from this pic?

1. I love the Cardinals (pipe down Lisa, I don’t want to hear about your stinkin Red Sox!) The frame on the right is of Mr. Incredible and me at a game with the big ol’ Red Bird cool cup behind it.

2. While I don’t drink often, I think wine bottles are just soooo cool! The one on the right is a window bottle with a painting of the arch showing through – I couldn’t pass it up.

3. I love my coffee – Starbucks when I have an extra dollar or five, but I don’t usually have that so Quik Trip is where I fill up on my favorite addiction.

4. Next are various trinkets the boys have made or given me. Cricket has hung out on my shelf for many a year and still “sings” when his wings are turned.

5. The scissors are the tool I use most….great for opening bags, cutting chicken, prying things open, threatening the kids….JUST KIDDING, I would NEVER use them to pry something open. LOL

6. Keep on moving and you come to the other frame which is of #3 with his baseball coaches when they went to The Field Of Dreams. I will have to do a separate post on his coaches sometime, because they are too wonderful for words.

7. You will also see another bottle (from a very special date) and an ugly wine butler that I “won” at a white elephant. Some things are so ugly they are cute 

8. Last my view is of the trees behind the house. I can stand at my window and gaze quite a while. This is where I get my bird pics, watch squirrels, get a peek at a fox every once in a great while, and watch my dogs steal loaves of bread and chow down on them.

Thanks for taking the tour – come back tomorrow for more fun and adventure, LOL.

37 - #1

Due to a small distraction yesterday, I did not post a pic of #1 as I promised him. So today you get not 1, but two, 2, t.w.o. pictures of his most awesomeness!

You can actually tell a lot about him in this pic.
1 - he NEVER makes his bed
2. he loves this dog more that almost anything else
3. if it is written word, he will read it (just like his mom!)
4. he became VERY brand specific a few years ago - Am Eagle, Holister, and Hurley all the way
5. two things that got cropped out of this shot - the HUGE Fathead of the Broncos on the wall and the shelf of baseball trophies above him.
oh yeah....
6. he is sooooooo stinkin CUTE! (love ya buddy!)

This was his "you better get me on the blog today, or else" pose.

And there you have it.....#1

36 - Happy No-Snow Day!

I told #1 that I would post a pic of him today, but I found out that my favorite Alasken (sp?) was celebrating 16 years of wedded bliss. Change of plans - TOMORROW will be a shot of #1, today is a shot just for her. HERE is your snow!

35 - You Turkey

I promise to get off my bird kick, but first I have to show you one more. There is a raft of turkey that hang out in several yards on a pretty major road near me. The first time I saw them walking down the sidewalk, I nearly had a wreck!

34 - Oh JOY!

Let me be perfectly clear and say this is SOOC (straight out of camera) because I am just too busy tonight to get engrossed with Photo Shop. Everytime I open that program it is like I go into another universe only to come out on the other side AT LEAST 1 1/2 hours later. I simply didn't have that much time today - let me break it down for you...3 boys + 4 events + all across town from each other = no time for PS! But...BUT...Look at what I found today hanging out in my yard. This....THIS....is enough to put me in sheer bliss for days!

33 - Squirreling Away Food

So this is NOT a great shot, but I thought it was stinkin funny that this little guy scored a whole slice of bread. It was even funnier to watch the other squirrel try to take it from him. I had to run get "Buffy" (the name #2 bequethed my mom's camera - a story for a different day) so I took it with a zoom and no tripod - therefore the blurred pic.

32 - Eggsellent Day

Today I finally stopped at the little farm that is on the way to my work and got some eggs. I have been meaning to stop for a long time now, but just never have. The owner was a perfectly lovely women with several sweet dogs and for just a little bit more money, I came away with wonderful farm-fresh eggs. The thing I love the most about them is their amazing color. They come in all these fantastic colors...brown, spotted, even green! I can't wait until morning to fry up a couple of these babies.

This one even still has a teeny tiny feather on it still!

And so we move into February!
